I think this is a pretty good game for what it is.
I would think that adding another parameter would make it more interesting.
Overall though, pretty decent.

I played extraction: chapter 0 a play and enjoyed it while it lasted. I understand a new chapter is coming out.
After playing this I can't help but see a pattern in overly simple, well stylized escape games.
Hoping I get a bit more of a challenge with your other submissions.

LightWolfStudios responds:

This game was made before Extraction: Chapter 0, and both were designed and developed in the 72 hour rush that is the Ludum Dare game jam. Our future games will definitely be significantly better.

This has been said many times before.
Good art. Entertaining at first, and then it becomes unnecessarily difficult.
Repeating a level but having it be backwards seems a bit like it was filler.
Double the difficulty with little extra work.
I'd like to play this game when you've spent more than 24 hours on it though, Game Jams are a blessing and a curse.

Not good at all.
Sorry but I gotta try and stop this one in the portal.

To be blunt, this isn't very fun.
I'm flying around just searching for things. Feels very "needle in a haystack".
It's not necessarily difficult, you can just bump into everything infinitely without taking damage.

It's just tedious.
Maybe if there rewards or upgrades, enemies or something I could see myself wanting to play this.
Impressive for 48 hours though.

Raymoclaus responds:

You're right, those sort of things can definitely liven up the game play. My focus was just on creating a mood for the player and not so much about keeping them entertained and focused. In my mind adding extra features that don't support that mood were just treated as distractions that should be avoided. I wouldn't ask anyone to play this for longer than 1 play session at most, I'm aware that there is nothing holding the player, but I'm happy you took the time to provide feedback.

The boxes come at a bit of a surprise, I'm not left with much time to react. Maybe if there were more of a warning like the shadow of the box showing up a second earlier.

There seems to be a bit of lag controlling him which makes it all the more difficult.

nitinkumar25195 responds:

Come take a look at it tomorrow. I will do something about this.
Edit: Uploaded the new version. there is more space as an active field and the boxes wont be that much of a surprise as before. Hope you like it.
About the controller, Its not a lag its just the switch time from different animations.

This was okay, I wouldn't use exploration in the tags or comments. This was incredibly linear.
The grinding aspect was unnecessarily tedious.
I have to just wait until he collects well over 1000 wood and I can't even click away to do something else.

Also, I'm sure I wasn't in your demographic when you wrote out the tomb part but a lot of the memeage was a little cringy.

Other than those three things (grinding, linear story, and memes) I think it was a fine quick game and would definitely play any of your future stuff.

Not a fan of this, plenty of better PacMan ports.
The Monitor overlay, I get whats trying to be done but it's not well executed and it takes up from your field of view.

The death animation isn't there, plenty of other janky things here and there while playing like pacman randomly turning a certain way.

I'd put the time into an original game and see what else you can come up with if you haven't done so already.

JeZxLee responds:

Thanks for confirming the game runs! - We fixed the input issues, goto www.16BitSoft.com for current version! Going to use this engine for something else soon...

Very simple and satisfying game, no complaints.
Not really my cup of tea but this definitely deserves to escape the portal.

I think this is a super interesting idea that needs a TON of polishing.
The fact that you can change all of these parameters is interesting.
Maybe add a feature where you have to play to unlock these? Or changing certain settings gives you bonuses.

As it stands now it's more of a gadget or simulation than a game I feel.
I wouldn't call it addicting as after about a minute or so I'm writing this review.

What would keep me would probably be some payoff.

JIFERS responds:

the main reason you don't have to play to unlock feature is to keep the game fair, when it comes to the leaderboard, the modifiers are there simply to spice up the game, and in fact changing the modifiers do change the point multiplier, the maximum you can get is 8x however the game will be far more difficult, again this is for balancing purposes. I'm not quite shure what your referring to when about the polishing as its a very simple game, the concept is don't hit the edge of the screen. I don't see how its lacking in that regard so if you could elaborate on that that would be great, I don't actually like the game myself and so writing anything positive about it is hard but that is what one is supposed to do, so I took what one of my testers said, "addicting game" and put that in the description. I'm glad you found the idea of avoiding the edge of the screen interesting despite not seeing why sutch a simple idea could be interesting myself.
I'm planning to add a few more character customization things, new shapes and such, would you want me to make it so you need x amounts of points to unlock these?

It works %100 of the time
